Book Review: Daddy by Demand by Karen E. Rigley

Rating:

Lovable All Around
4 Stars

While en route to Denver, handsome cowboy Slade Morgan found Mandi, a cute little girl hugging his leg declaring him as her daddy while Allie Wyatt, Mandi’s beautiful mother did not know whether she should be shocked or shed tears. Meanwhile, the press that hounds Slade was having a field day proclaiming that the commitment-shy bachelor had finally decided to have a family.

The premise of the story is unique all the way to the cleft chins that Slade Morgan and little Mandi shared. There were no spoiled brats or a dysfunctional family in sight. Everyone was a product of a loving home. And that is why this book is such an easy and fun read.

The chemistry between Slade and Allie was obvious from the beginning. Both are such lovable characters that you actually root for both of them, that is, who gets the upper hand in their daily banter. Sometimes you give Slade the win, sometimes you give the victory to Allie. And of course, Mandi as their tiny referee is just too cute for words.

A romantic comedy with a dash of suspense, it would have been a perfect story except for the very short conclusion about the villain. The bad guy did not even have enough screen time to matter. Nevertheless, there was closure on this subplot, albeit a little bit hurried. That’s why I had to take 1/2 star. I am actually giving this book 4.5 stars.

A great read! Easy, funny and sweet!!!
