Book Review: Darkness Falls by Erin Kellison

darkness fallsA groundbreaking paranormal series, “Darkness Falls” is set in the near future when man has discovered and exploited the waking dream.

Called “rêve” (the French word for dream), entrepreneurs have commercialized the waking dream. Highly addicting, rêve has become the drug of choice of this new generation. And when there is commerce, there are also criminal elements.

This is where our hero, Agent Malcolm Rook comes in. A recruiter for a law enforcement organization, Rook met Jordan Lane during one of his hunts for talented rêvelers. Born with a natural talent, Jordan Lane took to the rêve on her first try, showing her immense talent early on.

But, Rook was not the only one who had recognized Jordan’s abilities. The criminal elements saw it, too. And then it becomes a race to save Jordan’s mind at the least and her life, at the most.

Darkness Falls: Reveler Series 1” is the first book in the series. And though the ending might be abrupt, all the loose ends that needed to be tied up were concluded in this book but there were a lot of new items mentioned that are hooks for the readers to read the next book.Malcolm Rook and Jordan Lane are exciting characters and the sexual energy between them is palpitating. There’s darkness in their erotic relationship that readers just saw a glimpse in here. There is also darkness in Rook’s psychological make-up. And of course, there is the crime-solving part that hooks the reader.

A great start to a new series. This book is Rated M for Mature due to sexual content and criminal elements.
