Book Review: The Millionaire Affair by Jessica Lemmon

Rating:

millionaire affairShort, sweet and saucy, “The Millionaire Affair” by Jessica Lemmon follows Landon and Kimber, who met 16 years ago when he was 21 and she was 16. And though Kimber carried a torch for Landon that whole summer, that five-year gap in their ages was insurmountable that time.

Now, both are in their thirties but there is still a gap between them. Landon is a millionaire ad executive while Kimber is a struggling owner of a vintage clothing store. And while Landon is confident and knows what he wants, Kimber is insecure and tentative.

And the biggest obstacle, both of them were still recovering from bad break-ups though both are no longer on the rebound.

Told from two points of view – Landon and Kimber, author Jessica Lemmon turned out to be a clever storyteller as each chapter segued seamlessly to the next. We feel both of the main character’s attraction to each other and both were trying to restrain themselves as they fought off the attraction.

What made this story a good read is that both Landon and Kimber acted their age – mature and decisive. Oh yes, some of their decisions were questionable. But they stood their ground while also accepting they made a mistake.

An easy read and something you can bring poolside or to the beach. You can even read it on the plane if you’re going somewhere.

This book is Rated M for Mature due to sexual content though they are far from graphic.
