Book Review: Only with You by Lauren Layne

Rating:

only with youA sweet and lighthearted romance, “Only with You” reminds me of the Broadway musical “How to Succeed in Business without really trying” though in reverse (it’s the heroine who succeeds) and without the ambition!

Sophie Dalton is the quintessential sorority girl – brilliant, beautiful and loves to party. There is only one problem though; Sophie had graduated from college five years ago.

Grayson Wyatt is your quintessential executive – brilliant, devastatingly handsome and boring! He met Sophie in a malfunctioning elevator in Las Vegas and thought that she was a hooker.

Now, as we all know, things that happen in Vegas do not usually stay there. Grayson and Sophie meet again in Seattle; and the Fates has a wicked sense of humor! Though both of them did not want it, they have to work together. Sophie became the Executive Assistant to Grayson Wyatt, CEO of a famous hotel chain.

One of the reasons why I like reading romances is the optimism that is always there. “Only with You” has it in abundance! Sophie might be a party girl but she is also wholesome. Grayson might be your typical square guy but he is adorable. They are polar opposites yet they clicked!

And those are the reasons why this book is an enjoyable read. Author Lauren Layne wrote the characters to be three-dimensional you can actually feel the tension between Sophie and Gray.

This book is rated M for Mature due to sexual content.
