Book Review: Persy and the Prince by Jane Myers Perrine

Rating:

persy and the princeA lighthearted romance, “Persy and the Prince” is a Cinderella-in-reverse story.

The ultimate social activist, Persy Marsh left a life of wealth and comfort to help the underprivileged and the working class in her local community which happened to be home to one of the luxurious Prince Hotels.

Jordan Prince is probably the most eligible bachelor on this side of the Mississippi. Heir to the vast Prince Hotels chain, he is also the ultimate businessman – always impeccably dressed and always watching the bottom line.

But, destiny had other plans for them. Meeting in a very unusual and unforgettable moment, there was instant attraction between them. And though they might belong in the same social class, their life philosophies are so different that love might not be enough for them to reach their happily ever after.

Persy and the Prince” is an easy read; Persy and Jordan are also very lovable characters. And though author Jane Myers Perrine made the meeting of their hearts and mind believable, there was a feeling that the ending was rushed. It was as if, there was a limit on the number of pages that can be used.

Well, that’s one explanation. Another explanation is that there might be a sequel, which is good because Persy and Jordan still have a lot of issues to face and tackle as a couple. Then again, it was not clear either if there is going to be a follow up. And for that vagueness, I’m taking one star, hence the four star rating.

This book is rated PG 13 due to some adult situations. There are no sex scenes in this book.
