Book Review: The Pirate’s Tempting Stowaway by Erica Ridley

The Pirates Tempting StowawayThe sixth book in the “Dukes of War” series, “The Pirate’s Tempting Stowaway” is a delightful surprise! While the first five were about young men and women of a typical age to marry during the Regency Period in England, the tale of Captain Blackheart and Mrs. Clara Halton finding love later in life.

The Pirate’s Tempting Stowaway” is not about love at first blush; rather, it is about falling in love slowly as you get to know the other person better. Though Blackheart and Clara were not brokenhearted or still pining for a long lost love, they have had more life experiences and thus a little wary about committing to a relationship.

Which, by itself is the reason why this book is such a fun read! Readers can relate to Blackheart and Clara more because nowadays, we tend to marry later. Or sometimes, our second chance of love is way much later in life. Thus, we find Blackheart and Clara very lovable and relatable.

Hence, once again, Erica Ridley has another winner in her hand. So full of life and with a great thirst for adventure, Blackheart and Clara can easily put the other couples to in the Dukes of War series when it comes to enjoying life!

The Pirate’s Tempting Stowaway (Dukes of War Book 6)” is Rated M for Mature due to violence and sexual content.

Description

Captain Blackheart leads a simple life of roving the seas, wenching and treasure-hunting. He steers clear of romantic entanglements that could tie him to land. He shouldn’t have any trouble keeping his hands off the gently-bred lady he’s commissioned to abduct—except his cargo turns out to be feisty and passionate! She’d be a prize worth treasuring, if having her aboard didn’t jeopardize everything…
Clara Halton thought the worst loss she could suffer was to be stripped of her family, stricken with consumption, and left to die alone. Then she meets Blackheart. Their attraction is ruinous…and irresistible. When he delivers her like so much plunder, his mission is over — but hers has just begun. She’ll force him to acknowledge their connection, even if she must storm his ship to do it!
