Book Review: Race the Darkness by Abbie Roads

Author Abbie Roads describes “Race the Darkness” as a dark romance, which is a proper description of this hard to put down book. What Roads did not say though is that it is also a romantic suspense that grabs you from beginning to end.

The story of Xander and Isleen, “Race the Darkness” is about finding love in the most unexpected place. Two tortured souls, both literally and figuratively, Xander and Isleen immediately found peace when they met. It should have been happily ever after, but there were entities unknown to both of them who disagree. And thus, these star-crossed lovers have to race the darkness so that they can get to their happily ever after.

A great read that can overwhelm you if you don’t pace yourself. Abbie Roads writes a good yarn. This is the first book I have read from her and I’m truly impressed. She can give writers of American Gothic a run for their money.

Not for the faint of heart, make sure you don’t read this book at bed time to use it so that you will fall asleep because I can guarantee that it will keep you wide awake. You will want to know what happens next, which will make you want to read the whole night through.

Race the Darkness is Rated M for Mature due to violence and sexual content.
