Book Review: Rogue (The Cat Star Chronicles) by Cheryl Brooks

Rating:

Music and Passion
4 Stars

OMG, this third book is HOT! To describe it as steamy is an understatement. Tychar, the Zetitian with a golden voice is the perfect match for music teacher Kyra, an Earthling. Making music together is just half of the reason why Tychar and Kyra are hot together.

On third installment of Cat Star Chronicles, Cheryl Brooks brought us to a desert planet. Whether it was a play on Star Wars (remember Anakin being a slave in the desert planet of Tatooine?)or a look back in history when Egypt was still ruled by the pharoahs and there were slaves, Cheryl Brooks continues to titillate her readers with her fertile imagination as she built a world based on what is familiar yet also very different.

As expected, all the characters were fleshed out very nicely. Trag, Tychar’s brother was also introduced and played a bigger role than a supporting character. Once again, kudos to Cheryl Brooks for her masterful storytelling. Her voice which was tentative in Book 1 has become sure in Rogue (Book 3).

I can only say great things about this book. So why did I only give it four stars? Well, there was one scene which I did not like. Maybe I’m a prude, and let’s end it at that. Also, there were a few cheesy lines during the retaking of the palace.

Now, take away my prudishness and those two cheesy lines, and it would have been a FIVE.

Again, I would like to reiterate that I have actually bought all the books in the series. I’m just writing the review in the order that the books were released.

Rated M for Mature due to sexual content
