Book Review: Tamed by Rebecca Zanetti

tamed by rebecca zanettiIt is always hard to start in the middle when you are reading a book from a series. So, when I got hold of “Tamed” which is Book 5 in the “Dark Protectors” series, I was worried that I would be lost and not understand the nuances of the characters.

Well, I was wrong! I should have not doubted Rebecca Zanetti’s mastery of her craft. As a story teller, she was able to make the hero and heroine – Caleb Donovan and Lily Sotheby come alive, relate the attraction they have to each other and insert some steamy & sexy scenes while Caleb and Lily were fighting a war!

Tamed” is the story of two star-crossed lovers. They have been in love with each other for centuries (Caleb is a vampire and Lily is a long-lived human) but duty came first. Now, they have a second chance at love, but the price might be too steep for them to pay.

It is a short book, and a very easy read; yet I still found myself racing to the end because I want to know what happened. I ended up speed reading “Tamed”, then re-reading it to get to know Caleb and Lily better.

And like love, which is lovelier the second time around, Caleb and Lily became more alive as I read more carefully how their characters were developed. And, by the way, that’s not easy feat considering that the book is only 129 pages long!

The good news – though this is part of a series, “Tamed” is also a stand-alone book. The story has a beginning, climax and denouement.

The bad news (or is this better news, you decide) – You will fall in love with the series immediately that you want to know what happened beforehand! Hence, that means downloading all of the 4 books before it.

Tamed” is Rated M for Mature due to sexual content.
