Emerson Fall 2013: A Post Apocalyptic World Coming Back to Life

Emerson F13 01DALLAS, May 5, 2013/ — The concept of a post-apocalyptic Earth has always inspired designers and Jackie Fraser-Swan of Emerson was also lured by that romantic concept of reshaping our world.

But, Fraser-Swan has a different idea, instead of a world ending, she had the notion that the Earth would come back to life in a much more beautiful way than ever imagined. And for that, she went back to the most basic and perhaps the first fabric that man had wrapped himself with – leather.

Leather is used throughout the Fall 2013 collection in pieces such as, pants, jackets, vests, and accents on dresses. There are several investment pieces that would be a great addition to any woman’s wardrobe, such as a classic oversized sweater, a knee-length dress in a specialty metallic knit.

The collection features great leather and shearling jackets, an asymmetrical vest and a calf hair/leather bomber jacket. There are also several classic button-down tops offered in silk chiffon prints, and also in a red cotton gauze with black leather trim and collar.
