Kaelen Spring 2013

NEW YORK, Sep 8, 2012/ — Inspired by Jean Paul Goude’s revolutionary work with Grace Jones, designer Kaelen Haworth’s Spring 2013 collection is an evolved interpretation of iconic eighties silhouettes.

Tailored suits and peplums are constructed in neoprene for its softness and drape that juxtaposes the more architectural aspect of the fabric. Structured shoulders are carried through the collection to add modernity and strength contrasting the fluid elements.

Graphic black and white prints in visually striking vertical stripes or an organic pattern mimicking petrified wood were hand painted by Eva Zuckerman.

Bright buttery yellow, pale pink and nude were thoughtfully incorporated adding a delicate, feminine aesthetic.
