The Swarovski Look at 15th Anniversary Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show

For its customary Swarovski Look at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show this year, the focus is on the Nomadic Adventure section with a breathtaking custom outfit. Swedish model Elsa Hosk was chosen as the Victoria’s Secret Angel who will wear the crystal showpiece.

The lavish creation is a riot of sparkling fiery hues—red, yellow, gold, orange—designed by Paris-based couturier Serkan Cura. The look is embellished with over 275,000 crystals from Swarovski, the wings weigh 14lbs (6.5kg) and are made using 200 yards (183m) of woven ribbon and pavé crystals, finished off with a crystallized wing harness and hand-beaded jewelry. Over 29 crystal effects and colors were used in the design, more than in any previous year’s show designs.

Crystal effects include the new Citrine Shimmer, Hyacinth Shimmer, and Light Siam Shimmer; Crystal Aurore Borealis, Crystal Iridescent Green, Crystal Luminous Green, Crystal Metallic Sunshine, Crystal Paradise Sunshine and Crystal Volcano. Colors such as Chrysolite Opal, Crystal, Citrine, Dark Moss Green, Emerald, Fireopal, Fuchsia, Hyacinth, Indian Siam, Jet, Jonquil, Light Colorado Topaz, Light Siam, Light Topaz, Red Magma, Sunflower, Tangerine, Topaz, and Yellow Opal.

“It’s all about sparkle, shine and fantasy and that is what Swarovski brings to the show” said Victoria’s Secret EVP of Brand Communications and Events, Monica Mitro. “Especially this year’s look, it’s a completely over-the-top wing and Elsa just brings it to life.”

Serkan Cura developed his couture skills with Jean-Paul Gautier, establishing his own label in 2013 and making his name with spectacular winged creations. He has since showcased collections at Paris Haute Couture and created multiple runway looks for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show since 2013.
