Book Review: The Law of Nines by Terry Goodkind

What Have You Done Terry?

I’m a fan of Richard and Kaelen. I read all the books in the Sword of Truth series. And that is why this book is such a disappointment for me. 🙁

Set in today’s world, Alex Rahl (a descendant of one of the Rahl’s from the magical world)just turned 27 and inherited a big expanse of land. But, instead of making him happy, this windfall brought with it a series of coincidences that baffled Alex and most of all, put his life in jeopardy.

Alright, the concept is great. And like what I said, I love the Rahls already. But for some strange reasons, Terry Goodkind decided to make this a thriller a’la Tom Clancy. 🙁

I was not expecting magic; there is no magic in our world, according to the Sword of Truth lore, but I did not expect Alex Rahl to be a poor facsimile of Jack Ryan or Jason Bourne. I want the Rahl qualities back!

That said, I would like to add that I still like Terry Goodkind. I just don’t like the Law of Nines.
